These boot cuffs were designed to take on whatever added design the heart desires.

Skill Level:
Advanced Beginner

Materials:
~192 yards of worsted weight yarn
(I used Patons Classic Wool Tweed)
3.50mm crochet hook
stitch marker
yarn needle

Gauge:
5 stitches by 5 rows = 1 inch in single crochet in back loop

Finished Measurements:
(may vary with gauge and yarn choice) 

The bottom of the finished boot cuff measures 12.5 inches and stretches to 17 inches. The top of the finished boot cuff measures 14.5 inches and stretches to 18.5 inches.


Pattern Notes:
This boot cuff pattern is seamless.
The ribbing is worked first in rows after which the body is worked in rounds.

ch - chain
st - stitch
sk - skip
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc rs- half double crochet ribbing stitch (great tutorial here)
dc - double crochet

Shell Stitch:
6dc in indicated stitch

Ribbing
(worked in rows)

ch 8
R1:(right side) sc in the top loop of the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (7sc) 
R2: ch 1, turn, sc in back loop of each sc across (7sc)
R3 - R60: repeat row 2


Join ribbing:
ch1, turn
With wrong sides together and R60 facing you, line up the first and last rows of ribbing, and join together with slip stitches:
insert hook under the front loop (the loop closest to you) of R60 
and the bottom loop of the beginning chain,
yarn over and draw yarn through all three loops, 
continue across to last loop of beginning chain (7 sl st)
do not fasten off


Body
(worked in rounds)

Continue working on right side.

Round1: one sc in the end of each row, join with sl st to first single crochet (60 sc)
Round2: mark the beginning of the round, one hdc rs into the back loop of each sc around (60 hdc rs)
Round3: mark the beginning of the round, one hdc rs into each hdc around (60 hdc rs)
Rounds 4-10: Repeat Round3
Round11: one hdc rs into next 67stitches
(the "extra" stitches are made so that the ends line up)
do not join, do not fasten off


Edging

Round12:
Note: The stitches on this round are made into the same loop as if making a hdc rs
*sl st in next st, sk1, shell st in next st, sk1* 
continue as between ** to last four stitches, sl st, sk1, make shell stitch in next st, fasten off and secure behind first shell made (15 shells made

Weave in ends.
